Pictures of the Week                                            September 23, 2002

When I got back from the KR Gathering I decided to take a first pass at the weight and balance.  The details are shown at http://weight_and_balance_1.htm

This photo shows the shims required to level the aircraft prior to weighing  I used one scale and replaced the top there boards at each wheel, left main, right main, and then tail.  To replace the main gear on or off the scale I jacked the aircraft with a come-along.  The chain connected to the engine is shown in this photo.

This photo shows the fifty-eight pounds of ballast required to balance the aircraft and produce nine pounds of weight on the tail wheel when the engine was mounted.
