Pictures of the Week June 17, 2002
My problem for this week continued from last week, how do you stuff 5 pounds of inter-cooler and oil-cooler in a two pound space?

The problem has been that there is insufficient length to make a smooth transition from the inlet area to the maximum area of the coolers. The breakthrough for this week is that I have broken this problem into two segments: First, a conical diffuser and second a transition duct that allows conversion of the round diffuser exit to the rectangular face of the coolers. Using a conical diffuser greatly reduces the length of the diffuser over other shapes considered. Thus the two segments of the bottom cooling inlet. See the drawing below for details.
